Ultra-Small, Low-Power, 4-Wire Touch-Sensor Controllers With SPI/I2C Interface

The MAX11800 MAX11801 are complete resistive touch-sensor controller solutions, which target touch- enabled devices with small-to-medium size Displays The availability of two different package options makes the MAX11800 MAX11801 suitable for a broad range of applications. The MAX11800 MAX11801 enable minia- turization of consumer products due to their ultra-small size. Their extremely low-power consumption make them attractive for portable devices. The MAX11800 MAX11801 further decrease system supply-current requirements by efficiently controlling the touch Sensor Additional power savings are achieved by using the MAX11800 MAX11801s low-maintenance requirements from the host processor, which communicates with the device through the choice of two different industry-stan- dard serial Interfaces The MAX11800 MAX11801 contain an ADC a multi- plexer with drivers to Interface with a resistive touch Sensor and a digital serial Interface for command and control Communications In addition, the MAX11800 MAX11801 contain digital preprocessing of the touch- Sensor measurements, thus reducing bus loading and host processor resources. Also included in the function- ality is a flexible interrupt-generation engine, which enables servicing the part only when needed. The MAX11800 MAX11801 support the I2C or SPI ser- ial bus data transmission protocol. They are capable of auto shutdown between conversions to save power making them ideal for portable applications.
