LPC Super I/O For Desktop & Server

W83667HG is Winbond`s LPC Interface I/O supporting hardware monitoring functions, SST (Simple Serial Transport) Interface and Intel PECI (Platform Environment Control Interface) Interface AMD TSI, CIR functions, legacy inputs / outputs devices, SPI Flash Interface and ACPI.As for the hardware monitoring functions, W83667HG could monitor several critical parameters in PC hardware. In temperature monitoring, W83667HG supports current mode (dual current source) method to increase the accuracy while measuring temperature. In fan output control, W83667HG supports the SMART FAN control algorithm, including SMART FANTM I and SMART FANTM IV. SMART FANTM IV provides different, adjustable fan speed slopes in different temperature zones so that board designers could adjust the rate of the fan speed flexibly. Meanwhile, W83667HG provides dynamic CPU over-clocking function to control the Vcore voltage by adjusting VID values through the independent VID input / VID output pins of W83667HG.W83667HG is the SST client and Intel PECI host. AMD TSI Interface is also implemented in W83667HG. W83667HG supports CIR receivers and transmitters for applications like Media Home Center, Microsoft Vista operation system.Regarding the legacy inputs / outputs devices, W83667HG supports the disk drive adapter, two high-speed serial Communication ports (UARTs), one of which provides IR IrDA 1.0 (SIR for 1.152K bps) function, one PC-compatible printer port, keyboard & mouse control Interface and general purpose I/O (GPIO) ports.For the Flash Interface W83667HG provides a Serial Flash ROM Interface W83667HG fully complies with the Microsoft PC98 and PC99 Hardware Design Guide and meets the requirements of ACPI.
